Can I Rescue My Lost Mobile Phone Texts?

I changed Mobile Sim Cards – from PAYG ‘Vodafone’ to contract ‘Virgin’ – but kept the same number. I failed to back up texts on the old SIM, and now all are lost.
However, If I used Sim Card Data Recovery Software, and A Sim Card reader, could I still claw back the lost texts?
